With a Big Muff and a DS-2 th e Blackstar is absolutely amazing. 5w setting as I live in a townhome and it was more than loud enough for my intended use, so 1 watt from the Blackstar is plenty and as it is a tube amp, the sound is much more in line with what I’m looking for. I plan to learn how to use Garage band for that purpose, meaning I will be hooking up a MacBook pro to the amp in the future. I also like being able to hook my iPhone up to the amp to run sound tracks. This is important because it drives a deeper bass. It is about 7 lbs heavier than it's competitors, probably due to the speaker magnet which appears to be thicker than other amp speakers. The equalizer controls and guitar effects are responsive.
